  I am a former competitive long distance runner and two time Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier. I run now for enjoyment and to maintain good health and an active lifestyle. This year has been extremely frustrating because of multiple injuries that have severely impacted the quality of my life. I have seen many, many doctors over the past few decades and Dr. Esway has been a pleasant surprise! All of my previous doctors simply told me not to run and take anti-inflammatory and pain medications. Dr. Esway spent quality time with me asking me many different questions to determine the root cause of my problems. In less than one hour he figured out my back was curved (scoliosis) and that I had a leg length discrepancy which was causing weaknesses on one side of my body. Dr. Esway explained that all of my current and previous injuries are related and discussed options to rehabilitate and manage the problems moving forward. For the first time in 30 years I felt like I was part of the process and treated like a real person. I was also extremely confident that we had co-developed a sound action plan for me to recover from the latest injuries and maintain an active and high quality lifestyle moving forward. Dr. Esway has a motto "patients always come first" and I cannot thank him enough for helping me accomplish my goals!
